Epionce: Skincare we're LOVING Right Now
Epionce Anti-Ageing Discovery
Does it work?
Every now and then we come across a product that we can’t live without. Or a bunch of them. When it comes to skincare, you have to be discerning about what you choose. Get your skincare right and everything falls into place, your makeup sits better and you feel more confident when you decide to brave the day bare faced. Read on to find out how we got on with the Epionce Anti-Ageing Discovery Set.
Epionce Anti-Ageing Discovery Set
All the beauty guidance and advice tells us one thing, you should start using anti-ageing skincare as soon as you turn 25. Now that might sound depressing but trust us you’ll be thankful in the long run. Looking after your skin in your twenties paves the way for more youthful, beautiful skin as you age. That’s why we decided to give this Discovery Set from leading skincare brand Epionce a whirl over 3 weeks to truly test the impact it had on skin texture, hydration and firmness.
The set itself comes in a nice little box with various tubes each containing 15ml of product and at first glance doesn’t seem like lots. However this set goes faaaaaaar. Open up the box to reveal 5 tubes; Lytic Gel Cleanser 15 ml, Lytic Tx 15 ml, Intense Defense Serum 15 ml, Renewal Facial Lotion 15 ml and Intensive Nourishing Cream 15 ml.
What’s great about this set is that it comes with specific instructions for what order to use the products in, how long to leave each product on before continuing the next step so you know you’re getting the maximum benefits. This takes the guesswork out of it. Before beginning this new regime, I went to have a dermaplaning session which involves using a fine scalpel (not as scary as it sounds) to remove any dead cells from the surface of the skin which allows products to penetrate more deeply.
I followed the instruction to the letter, starting off with the Lytic Gel Cleanser which is designed to remove harmful microbes and reduce inflammation of the skin to actively cleanse and prep before the next step - Lytic Tx. The Lytic Tx treatment is supposed to ‘be effective in smoothing imperfections and reversing visible ageing, when used in conjunction with Renewal products.’ Next step is one that I’m familiar with - serum. The Intense Defense Serum is applied once the Lytic has been left to penetrate the skin for 5 minutes before applying either the Renewal Facial Lotion or the Intensive Nourishing Cream. I opted to use the Renewal Lotion for daytime and only wore the Nourishing Cream before bed as it was a slightly thicker product. After applying the whole range of products, I noticed a tingling sensation - not unlike that of a glycolic peel which I take as a good sign of active ingredients getting in there and doing their thang!
I loved that these products contain ingredients that help deal with inflammation and redness like willow bark and Salicylates for blemishes. I’m a big fan of anything that contains salicylic acid for when my skin goes through a random break out.
I continued this routine for over two weeks before forming an opinion on the Discovery Set as it takes a certain amount of time to truly see any difference or improvement when trying new skincare. Particularly as life can get in the way, an evening of alcohol can leave my skin dry the next day or a stressful week can take its toll on your appearance.
After two weeks I can definitely see a marked change in my skin. As someone who takes care of my skin anyway I’m quite fussy when it comes to products but I loved this Discovery Set and 100% will be shopping with Epionce. My skin is clearer, brighter and more hydrated. I don’t know if I look more youthful but I’m happy to go bare faced more often now on those can’t-be-bothered-putting-on-makeup days and still feel confident in my appearance. This Discovery Set gets a big thumbs up from us!
