Autumn Winter Trend Report

Tayla Powell

If you're thinking that this year is going too fast because it’s time for the Autumn Winter Trend Reports already, you're not wrong. With some retailers ALREADY flogging Christmas stock and flurries of knits and cozy separates rushing the rails, it's Autumn y'all. Scary. But I’m sure we're not the only ones getting excited for sweaters and boots after the recent temperature drop. We’ve been hard at work, reviewing the runways and stalking the high street for this round-up. All in the name very thorough investigative journalism of course.

Creamy Caramel Tones

Turn up the Tonal

We’re going to be looking through sepia tinted glasses this autumn with a plethora of camel colour variations and warm neutrals coming our way. Think beige, toffee, caramel and tobacco palettes taking over our wardrobes. Consider us officially obsessed with this trend – it’s laid-back chic made easy for everyone. Choosing fashion-forward tonal is also a great way to cheat your way to building a quick capsule wardrobe, as all the hues team well together. Go head to toe in warm tones as a nod to vintage fashion this season. Top Tip - invest in caramel knitwear with an oversized fit for effortless chic.

Leopard Love

Rawwr like a Wild Animal

Who are we kidding? Leopard print never really went out of style. This season animal print is getting a shake-up, along with all its friends; zebra, snake and tiger to name a few. Make this trend work for you by combining bold animal prints with your staple denim, black pieces and soft knitwear for edgy style. We'll definitely be pulling out those old beloved leopard ankle boots this season! With the flood of animal print currently rocking its way from the catwalk and onto the high street, this is definitely one you'll want to jump on. Whether you want to go glam with red lips and pared back leopard or team reptilian textures with a band tee to channel a rocker vibe.

Puffin' it Up

If you’ve ever been tempted to leave the house wrapped in your duvet on cold winter mornings, then rejoice. The puffer jacket is just what you need and they’re going to be everywhere this season. Perfect for any fans of the street-wear look, it perfectly complements any sports inspired outfits. Finally, fashion and comfort collide. Layer your puffer over luxe knitwear, relaxed joggers and your favourite trainers for chic style that's great at the weekend.

Check Me Out

Check. Tartan. Plaid. Whether you’re thinking 90s Clueless, Scottish Highlands or Canadian lumberjack, we’ve seen it all on the runway for this season. Brace yourself for check patterns on just about everything, but the key stand-out pieces to be seen in are check coats and matching check two-piece suits in all of the traditional tartan hues and edgy new colours. The co-ord is definitely going from strength to strength with no signs of slowing down. Definitely one to make a bold statement.

Heritage Chic Darling

You may not feel like a Kate Middleton weekending on a country estate on your early morning commute to work, but you can sure as hell steal her style. Heritage Chic is back with a bang for Autumn. Think elegant tweed galore, silk scarves, low hems and high necklines are the mainstay of this trend and were seen everywhere on the runway. This is one trend that lends itself well to your workwear wardrobe. A contemporary take on a tweed suit or simply a tweed coat will make you look so chic and sophisticated around the office. Bonus points for teaming with leather loafers with a horse-bit.

Just a friendly reminder with these trend reports - trends are fun and all but nothing will ever replace your own unique personal style. If it’s not “you”, then don’t do it!
