Spring has officially sprung and we’re starting the countdown until Summer. We can’t be the only ones dreaming of sundresses, sandals and sun after slogging through a long Winter.

With all the new Summer drops appearing on the High Street already, now is the time to get your Summer wardrobe inspiration and get shopping. We’ve compiled a list of the top fashion trends for Spring Summer 2019 to keep you in the loop.

Fifty shades of desert sand, ecru, khaki, oatmeal, stone and cream. This is THE colour palette of the season. The chic colours evoke images of safaris and deserts which marries perfectly with the utility trend. Adding in a neutral pair of utility trousers or a utility shirt to your look adds a summer in the Serengeti vibe, even on an urban Summer city break.

The key pieces this season have to be the neutral boiler suit and utility jumpsuit. An easy to throw on option for anyone looking to dip their toe into the neutrals trend.

Natural tones aren’t just for the clothes. It’s all about woven textiles on your accessories too. Raffia. Rope. Wicker. Get it on your sandals, your crossbodies and beach bags, your hats, your earrings. It’s everywhere. The natural textures create a laid back yet sophisticated finishing touch to your summer ensembles.

Walk past a shop window this season and you’ll likely see a display filled with outfits with clashing bold colours AND prints. What might have been seen at OTT a while back is now en vogue. Great news for all colour lovers who shudder at the thought of an all beige ensemble. Pull out your most colour filled pieces and pair that emerald green floral with fuchsia polka dots. It’s all about having fun with this trend.

Is there a better companion out there for your Summer sundress? We think not. The retro style looks add a touch of old Hollywood glamour to your looks, making you feel like an off duty 50’s film star holidaying in Southern Europe. Or is that just us?

There’s no material that screams Summer more than linen. It’s light and breathable, classy and casual. It was big last year and it’s set to be even bigger with a plethora of sundresses, suits, skirts and tops. There’s a pick for everyone who’s looking to add a touch of texture to their looks.

Good news,  this one is a great accessible trend and a budget friendly way to refresh the wardrobe for the new season. If the full on 70’s style crochet seen on the runway is a bit too much for you, opt for a neutral knitted camisole top or a textured open weave jumper. Perfect for easy styling with denim by day or a skirt for those summer nights out.

The Marmite of the fashion trends. You’re either going to love it or hate it. If you’re a lover, pair your cycling shorts with an unexpected tailored piece like blazer for a statement look, that screams 1991 Chanel. Or keep it 90’s casual with an oversized tee and bumbag. If the average stretchy fabric doesn’t grab you, luckily they come in all varieties - we’ve spotted lots of denim and leather cycling shorts too.
