In our contemporary times, it's becoming quite common for many women to choose to work from home, should they be given the option. With the rise of the digital nomad, more and more people are making a more favourable work life balance by combining their homes with their incomes and creating an office from home. The space in which we work is so important to our feelings of happiness, productivity and more so it's a great idea to put your best foot forward and update your little office corner. So whether you are managing your own business from home, or you just like putting aside a couple of hours a day to be creative, here are some tips on how to maximize your productivity through the space you work in.
Work Some Comfort
There's no doubt about it, having a comfortable spot can make you far more productive and willing to put the head down and blast through some work. Whether it is a comfortable chair, a fluffy carpet under your feet, or a warm area, it's important that you feel comfortable in your working space. Comfort means relaxation, and your creativity peaks when you’re calm and relaxed. Some of our favourite pieces to add that extra layer of comfort to any room are sumptuous fluffy rugs and tactile textures that scream relaxation.
Light It Up
Don't underestimate the power of lighting in any work space, be that at home or in an office. Try to set up your work space by a window to make the most out of the natural light that will flood through each day. If natural light isn't an option for you, simply paint your room in a light colour to add an airy and lightweight feel to any space. It can be difficult to keep surfaces clear but for an optimal and inviting space, try not to cramp with unnecessary things. You want to have a sense of freedom and space in your productive areas. When working or creating from home, it needs to look like a welcoming place and not like a cramped office where deadlines await.
Be productive and tackle your day like a boss with some daily inspiration in your working space. You don’t need to go to town with lots of decoration or clutter to be inspired. Make your creative space your own and feel inspired everyday with simple touches that inspire you or bring a smile to your face. It can be as simple as adding a painting, a beautiful vase of fresh flowers, photos of your friends or a collection of books you’re fond of. Store them so they’re out of the way but in sight, so that you can glance at them and find joy whenever you’re feeling discouraged or overwhelmed. We love the idea of simple floating shelves above your desk as a way to display and keep organised.
