Five Things We All Do In September
Summer 2018 will always be remembered as one of the best we have ever seen. But the memories of beach days, sunshine and BBQs makes it even harder to welcome October and start to think about the colder months ahead. Are we right?
Whilst it hasn’t hit us just yet, let’s face it, the dropping temperature has us all in preparation mode for winter. And with the kids back to school and only 80 or so days to Christmas, the last few weeks have been the realisation we’ve all needed to get planning for what’s ahead.
Here’s our round-up of the top five things we all did in September!
1. Not Going Out
We’ve started to decline invitations in favour of staying in. Getting curled up on the sofa with a blanket, a takeaway and a glass of wine is so much more appealing than a night on the tiles - especially when this is TV’s best season. X Factor is back, Bake Off in on, The Apprentice has us fired up for more and we are so ready for Graham Norton’s red chair. We are not even sorry.
2. Heat of the Moment.
If we plan on staying indoors, we know it has to be as comfortable as possible and we’re not taking any chances. Most of us will have already gotten a few quotes from heating companies and some of us have probably had our fresh supply of oil ordered and delivered already. You’re lying if you say you haven’t thought about lighting the fire yet…...we know you are!
3. Viva Espana
Okay, so good TV and the cosiness of our front room is nice but it will never replace the gorgeous feeling of sunshine on our skin. On more than a few occasions, we’ve all spent a lunchtime scrolling through holiday deals, or suggested a city breaks in a sunnier clime to our other half. We’re only human!
4. Party Season
Apparently, September is the most-popular month for Christmas party bookings, and we can’t say we’re surprised. With that in mind, we’ve done a little research to help those last-minute kinds of people in charge of booking the office party or anyone looking for a unique night out with friends and family. For the first time ever this November and December, acclaimed events company, Best Parties Ever, comes to South 13 on the Boucher Road transforming the venue into an elaborate and majestic Masquerade Ball. The venue can be booked exclusively by groups of more than 300 or you can head along with just a few pals but each night is the same and it sounds pretty posh if you ask us. Attendees are welcomed with canapés on arrival before sitting down to a sumptuous four-course meal that includes a cheese buffet – yes, a cheese buffet and we can barely brie-lieve it. On top of that, there will be a selection of bars so you won’t be queuing for a drink and instead can enjoy the incredible line-up of entertainment which includes aerial dancers, acrobatics, casino tables, bumper cars, a disco and more. There’s even a Survivor's Breakfast served around midnight so you can keep partying until the wee hours.
Prices start from just £38.50 and booking is open now at bestpartiesever.com/belfast. Visit @bestpartiesever for more information.
5. Stocked up
From the winter coat to the winter car kit, and from the soup mix to the slippers, our purchases have completely changed. Our inner squirrels have come out and we’re no longer taking any chances. Warmth, protection and safety are our key concerns and will be for at least another four months. Bring it on we say, bring it on!
